Annie Pullen Sansfaçon (she/her) (PhD Ethics, Social work, DeMontfort University, UK) is a Professor at the University of Montreal’s School of Social Work and holds the Canada Research Chair on Partnership Research and Empowerment of Vulnerable Youth. She is the previous holder of the Canada Research Chair on Transgender Children and their families. She acts as the scientific director of the multidisciplinary research team on transgender youth and their families in Quebec and is the Co-director of CRI-JaDE, the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Intersectional Justice, Decolonization, and Equity. Her research program aims at understanding how different structures and contexts affect the well-being of trans and gender-diverse youth living at the intersection of various social contexts. Rooted in anti-oppressive and gender-affirming perspectives, she proposes interventions and methodologies that support their empowerment.
