Cathy Carter-Snell, PhD, RN, SANE

Cathy Carter-Snell (she/her) is a Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Mount Royal University in Calgary. Her clinical work has been with victims of trauma since 1977, primarily in Emergency. She has worked with clients after sexual assault and domestic violence as a certified sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE-A) since 1998. She has developed numerous online curricula for both Emergency and Forensic programs for police, healthcare, and social workers including sexual assault courses and a rural sexual assault program. Her research focus includes gender-based violence prevention, disaster, injury identification, and critical incident stress.
