Peer Leader Advisor, West Coast
Clio Lake (they/she) is an SFU Master of Public Health student and community organiser living on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlil̓wətaʔɬ territories, where they coordinate advocacy and coalition building for the health of equity-deserving Two-Spirit, trans, and nonbinary people.
She is a project coordinator for SAGAH, the Society for Advocacy for Gender-Affirming Healthcare, a board member & organiser for the Vancouver Dyke March, and a Steering Committee Co-Chair for the BC Health Coalition. At SFU, they are the Advocacy Chair for the SFU Queer Collective and support the healthcare subgroup of the SFU Trans Equity Pod.
Clio’s day-to-day involves managing and scaling grassroots campaigns, strategizing content suites, designing health policy interventions, and building relationships with allies, coalitions, and policy makers. Their research and practice interests include gender-based violence prevention, sexual and gender minority care access, social determinants of health, and abolition for PWUD and sex workers. She is passionate about queer futurity and helping to create a kinder, more communal world. 🌱
