This section provides a brief tutorial on how to use the interactive features of the e-learning curriculum and an overview of its content, describes the development of the e-learning, and introduces you to terms that may be used when discussing and supporting trans and gender diverse survivors of intimate partner violence. You will learn how larger forces, structural forms of violence, and differing social identities and circumstances impact experiences of intimate partner violence.

In this section, you will learn the definitions and prevalence of different forms of intimate partner violence against trans and gender diverse persons.

Section 3: Impacts and Barriers to Seeking Help
In this section, you will explore the impacts of intimate partner violence and barriers to seeking help, such as the risk of further traumatization, lack of appropriate and available services, and other systemic, institutional, and internal barriers.

Section 4: Repeated Victimization
In this section, you will learn about repeated victimization, its prevalence and effects, as well as how adverse childhood experiences can lead to revictimization, polyvictimization, and intimate partner violence for trans and gender diverse persons.

Section 5: Providing Support
In this section, you will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to provide trans-affirming care and supports—from preparation before the first meeting through to referrals. You will also learn how to integrate person-centred and trauma-informed principles into your practice to support trans and gender-diverse persons experiencing intimate partner violence. Additionally, this section introduces trans and gender diverse-specific intimate partner violence screening tools, as well as approaches to safety planning.

Section 6: Vicarious Trauma
In this section, you will learn about vicarious trauma and its indicators. You will also learn about strategies to prevent and manage vicarious trauma and its impacts, especially in situations when you may share aspects of your identity with trans and gender diverse persons experiencing intimate partner violence.
